I am delighted to announce the Second National Conference for Intermediate Diabetes Care Teams – with a special focus on the role of GPSIs. Organised by the Primary Care Diabetes Society, its GPSI   sub-section and the journal Diabetes & Primary Care, it aims to provide a forum for debate among all parties involved in intermediate diabetes care – GPs, diabetologists, specialist and practice nurses and commissioners to name but a few – and examines how they can deliver high quality clinical care within a world undergoing change and restructure. This year’s programme highlights the day-to-day, practical realities of intermediate diabetes care in the light of this year’s revised NICE Type 2 Diabetes Guidelines. Last year, I welcomed over 150 of you to the inaugural event; I hope even more of you will join us this  year.

Brian Karet, GPSI, Bradford and PCDS Committee Member
